Kursus \u201cPerikanan Lestari\u201d memberikan pelajar pemahaman menyeluruh tentang cabaran dan peluang yang dihadapi oleh industri makanan laut. Dengan menekankan potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui amalan lestari serta kepentingan penyelidikan dan pembangunan, kursus ini melengkapkan pelajar dengan pengetahuan dan kemahiran untuk menyumbang kepada kelestarian jangka panjang serta daya tahan sistem perikanan dan akuakultur, demi menjamin masa depan yang selamat dan makmur bagi manusia serta alam sekitar. Pelajar akan meneliti cabaran yang dihadapi oleh industri perikanan dan akuakultur, termasuk penangkapan ikan berlebihan, kemerosotan habitat, dan pencemaran alam sekitar, sambil meneroka potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui amalan lestari seperti penghasilan produk nilai tambah dan peluang pasaran baharu. Mereka juga akan memahami peranan penyelidikan dan pembangunan dalam memajukan teknologi lestari dalam industri makanan laut serta menganalisis kajian kes dan amalan terbaik dalam pengurusan perikanan dan akuakultur dari seluruh dunia.
