20 Dec Capacity building programme for Asian HEIs’ administrative and academic staff
The first phase of the capacity building programme for the administrative and academic staff of the partner Asian HEIs was completed with great success and strong engagement, from 16 to 18 December 2024.
The program was developed by the three European project partners – Symplexis, Aegean Rebreath and the University of Cyprus – into a comprehensive and user-friendly training initiative, tailored for the administrative and academic staff of the four HEIs who are actively involved in the operation and management of their respective Sustainable Blue Economy Centers, with a focus on developing and sustaining robust collaboration frameworks within their networks.
The training was then designed and developed to guide the delivery of three three-hour webinars, delivered by the EU project partners (Symplexis, UCY and AR) between 16-18 December 2024, for the staff of the four Asian HEIs: UMT, USM, UI, ITS. Structured as a Train-the-Trainer programme, it enables participants to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired to other staff members in their institutions. To support wider access and learning, the webinars are also available online via asynchronous webinars, through the project’s Blue & Green Acceleration Platform.
The program aims to support HEIs in developing and sustaining robust knowledge networks and value chains to foster knowledge and technology transfer, as well as in their capacity building, facilitating the professional development of academic and administrative staff, which will ultimately enable the successful implementation of reforms within the four HEIs.
